FAQs

These caster wheels are designed for all 9amHome standing desks and other furniture with M8 threaded legs. If you are fitting them to a desk from another brand, check the thread specification on the existing levelling feet or desk frame before ordering.

Thread compatibility matters because not every standing desk uses the same mounting size. An M8 fitting should be confirmed rather than choosing a caster wheel based on appearance or wheel diameter alone.

Adding caster wheels can introduce slightly more lateral movement than fixed levelling feet, particularly when a standing desk is raised to a higher position. How noticeable this feels also depends on the desk frame, floor surface, and overall setup.

For everyday use, lock all four wheels once the desk is in position and make sure each caster is securely tightened. This helps minimise unwanted movement while typing or working.

Each caster wheel has a locking brake designed to keep the desk securely in position. For the best stability, engage the brakes on all four wheels rather than locking only one or two.

Some slight movement may still be possible depending on the floor surface, desk height, and how much force is applied, so the locks are intended to prevent normal rolling rather than make the desk completely immovable.

Yes. The caster wheels have soft edges designed to roll smoothly across timber and tiled floors without scratching them during normal use.

Before moving the desk, keep the floor and wheels free from grit or other debris that could become trapped underneath. This is particularly useful for Australian home offices with timber, laminate or tiled flooring.

Yes, although caster wheels generally roll more easily on hard flooring than on carpet. Low-pile carpet should provide easier movement, while thicker or softer carpet may create more rolling resistance.

Carpet can also affect how stable a standing desk feels, so test the desk at your normal sitting and standing heights after installation before setting up your final working position.

The set of four caster wheels supports up to 150 kg. When assessing the load, consider the weight of the desk as well as monitors, computers and other equipment placed on it.

If you regularly use a heavier multi-monitor or desktop PC setup, check the combined load before moving the desk.

Yes. Installing these caster wheels increases the desk height by approximately 5 cm. This affects both the minimum and maximum working height of the desk.

If you already use your standing desk close to its lowest setting, check whether the extra height will still give you a comfortable seated position before installing the wheels.

The caster wheels make it easier to reposition a standing desk for cleaning, cable management or changing your home office layout. The 360° swivel design allows the desk to change direction without needing to lift the frame.

Before moving a desk with monitors or other equipment on top, check that everything is secure and that power and monitor cables have enough slack. Move the desk slowly, particularly when crossing uneven flooring or changing between different floor surfaces.

First, remove the existing levelling feet from the bottom of the desk legs. Screw each caster wheel into the M8 threaded fitting, then tighten it securely with a wrench.

Once all four caster wheels are installed, place the desk upright, check that each wheel is firmly fitted and test the brakes before loading or moving the desk.
